Holiday Eve
I don't know about anyone else, but our holiday always starts the day before our holiday
starts!
It's the day that.....
·
we finally get ourselves 'holiday prepped'
·
we do all those last minute "getting ready for our holidays" household tasks that can't really be done until, well,
the last minute.
·
we occasionally shout out "Yayyy, we go on
holiday tomorrow".
·
our family and friends start ringing or texting
to tell us to have a great time (T's brother got in early & rang last night).
·
we confine the remnants of the diet we've been
(half-heartedly) following to the bottom of the deepest darkest waste bin.
·
we look totally happy in a totally vacant "we're
totally away with the mixer" type of way.
·
the already excited butterflies in our tummies
kick into overdrive and start having their own independent party
So today - with it being the day before our holiday
starts - our holiday started! and we
·
both went to get our holiday haircuts and then spent the rest of the afternoon finishing the packing
·
sorted out the central heating, light switch
timers and a zillion other little things we need to do to make our home safe
and secure for the next few weeks.
·
checked if our dog, Pongo, is being
spoiled rotten at my sister in law's (we took him down to Leics yesterday) and
yes, he is
·
had a fantastic, traditional pre hol dinner of
steak, chips and Budweiser(s).
·
occasionally shouted out "yayyy, we go on
holiday tomorrow".
·
got our snap happy heads on and took pictures of
the aforementioned dinner (delish) and the suitcases (heavy) piled up in the hall.
·
steadily increased our level of excitement to
the now familiar 'perpetual silly grin' stage.
